About Passages Academy
Passages Academy is a New York City Department of Education (DOE) school operated by District 79. Passages Academy operates in collaboration with the New York City Administration of Children Services (ACS), Division of Youth and Family Justice (DYFJ), and Office of Youth and Family Development (OYFD) to provide exceptional educational services to New York City students entrusted to their care and custody. We also collaborate with the Office of Children and Family Services to provide academic instruction to students diverted from incarceration.
Our MissionAt Passages Academy we believe all students should be valued, loved and supported to meet the social emotional and academic needs of each student so they can become successful members of their communities. Starting day one, this will be accomplished by working with our multiple partners to find the strengths and weaknesses of each student so we can develop a system of supports while they are at Passages Academy such as developing a blue print and student profile which will include supports while at Passages and community resources upon reentry into the community.
